“Plan for the future, because that’s where you’ll spend the rest of your life.”

In line with Mark Twain, the Stuttgart-based innovation and certification company TourCert and its worldwide network has succeeded in further anchoring sustainable tourism internationally. Current figures prove the success: The TourCert Community has grown by 50 percent in 2017 and now counts around 250 companies that have either been certified with the TourCert label or awarded the TourCert Check.

And TourCert’s branches are also expanding: In addition to the headquarters in Stuttgart, TourCert is represented through cooperation agreements or participations with currently eight contact points in Cologne, Berlin, Quito (Ecuador), Lucerne (Switzerland), Brixen (South Tyrol, Italy), San José (Costa Rica), Lima (Peru) and Bogotá (Colombia). Further locations are being set up in Bolivia, Kenya, Uganda, Bulgaria and Romania.

The current developments give every reason to celebrate – and the ITB 2018 provides the ideal setting for this. TourCert will be present at the Pow-Wow stage for tourism experts on Wednesday, 7 March 2018, at 1.15 pm on the topic “Sustainable Coasts in Europe & Latin America”. At the celebration at 5 pm on the main stage in Hall 4.1, all new members will be officially welcomed to the TourCert Community.

The guests can look forward to an exciting evening. This year’s programme includes the premiere of the new TourCert image film and an update on current developments by managing partner Marco Giraldo. We will introduce you to the newly certified Sustainable Destination Cuenca in Ecuador and welcome Marisol Acosta, Director of PromPerú, the National Export and Tourism Promotion Board. After the official part there is still time for a get-together and a lot of networking at a standing reception and live music.

All tour operators, journalists, destination representatives and other interested parties are also cordially invited to visit our stand 225 in Hall 4.1. We look forward to your visit!

And here again all ITB events of TourCert at a glance:

Wednesday, 7 March 2018, 1.15 pm (Hall 4.1. Pow-Wow stage): Pow-Wow for tourism experts “Sustainable Coasts in Europe & Latin America”.
