Together with our worldwide TourCert community, we want to transform tourism towards a fairer world where human rights are respected, and natural resources are used responsibly. We want to achieve a rethinking among all tourism stakeholders to accelerate the transformation in tourism.

We inspire, accompany and certify tourism companies and destinations on their way to a sustainable business approach. For this purpose, we develop practice-oriented management concepts and methods that help shape a sustainable business or destination. We systematically support businesses in their sustainability process, from strategy development to practical implementation.
Our sustainability criteria and certification standards are ambitious, internationally recognized and promote holistic as well as genuine long-term corporate development.
Change starts with the first step. We begin at the individual starting point of the businesses, motivate and qualify them to take practicable steps and encourage them to consistently pursue responsible business practices.
Through national and international projects, we draw the tourism stakeholders’ attention to sustainability and work with them to strengthen sustainable development worldwide. Using our sustainability and tourism expertise, we make implementing binding environmental and social standards possible.
The businesses and destinations certified by us are exemplary in the area of sustainability. As pioneers, they show possible ways to implement the global sustainability goals of the UN-Agenda 2030.

We are a non-profit and values-based business community. We set high standards for ourselves and seek ways to operate in a financially sustainable, environmentally and socially responsible manner. We are in dialog with our employees, partners, customers and funding bodies to continuously improve our (sustainability) services and are committed to full legal compliance. With personal conviction and mutual support, we work on equal terms with our TourCert community that includes companies, destinations, partners, consultants, auditors, certification councilors, employees and shareholders as well as travelers and public.
