Milestones in sustainable tourism – TourCert takes big steps in voluntourism and community-based tourism
Climate protection has been a focus at TourCert right from the start. In addition to the ecological component, we are aware that the socio-economic effects of poverty reduction and income generation should also be considered in the debate.
We are trying to strengthen the positive effects of tourism in Latin America: Our project Community Based Tourism in Ecuador shows impressively what women’s power means in the communities of Amupakin and Sinchi Warmi.
TourCert TourCert stands for Empowerment – after the success in Latin America we start in Africa
Uganda is known for its beautiful nature, its unique flora and fauna and its cultural wealth. With our project Tourism Excellence Uganda we would like to support and preserve this beautiful country in East Africa.
We are very happy about the successful completion of our project TourCert Latina. With the support of the Austrian Development Agency, we were able to establish independent training and certification structures in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Costa Rica in just four years.

Take only memories, leave only footprints – 10 years of TourCert in retrospect
10 years ago TourCert was founded in Germany, since then the organisation has developed in many ways and has positioned itself internationally. We celebrated the achievements at the ITB in Berlin at the beginning of March and recalled the history.
Since its foundation we have welcomed over 300 companies in the TourCert community. We would also like to greet the latest additions.
We look back – but especially forward. Great new projects and much more
I hope you had a great start of the new year – perhaps with good private and professional intentions: To approach new things, to cultivate contacts, to find a good work-life balance. At TourCert we do the same. There is a lot to do, but we are looking forward to new projects and challenges.
We wish you a lot of success and joy in the realization!

Travel for Tomorrow – We make the travel industry fit for the future
A lot has happened in the past few months, we have compiled the most important news for you in this newsletter:
Only two weeks ago, two destinations in Costa Rica were awarded the TourCert Certification, but Colombia, Peru and Ecuador are also making good progress. The project Turismo Comunitario is in full swing and we are pleased to be able to support local projects.
The TourCert Journal is here (again) – News from us and our network
After the relaunch of our website we have now also refreshed our newsletter. In this way, we would like to keep you updated about what is happening at TourCert and in our network on a regular basis. In doing so, the protection of your data is very important to us. That is why we have revised our data protection declaration.
We have put together the most important news of the last months in this message – be it a study by the German Consumer Initiative, our new image film or the first TourCert certified sustainable destination in Latin America.
