TourCert unites experts in tourism, academia, environment, development, and politics. With many years of experiences we are committed to responsible tourism. For us, “Travel for Tomorrow” means making the travel industry fit for the future and also sensitizing travellers on achieving a positive contribution for everyone involved with their holidays.
What we do
TourCert advises and accompanies tourism enterprises and destinations in the implementation of sustainable and successful ways of doing business.
TourCert qualifies through consultancies, seminars and online trainings that impart specialised knowledge on sustainable tourism.
TourCert provides certification and awards the TourCert label for sustainability and corporate responsibility in tourism. As a starting point, TourCert also awards the TourCert Check.
Why TourCert
We have developed an internationally recognised consultancy and certification system, permeating the entire tourism value chain with regard to sustainability, which can be applied internationally.
The TourCert system is more than just a certification. It is not just about awarding the label as such, but about the entire process and the company’s continuous development on the way to a sustainable future. What matters to us in this regard is “empowerment“, which means building learning structures and being jointly committed to business development. Tourism companies have their own CSR managers trained, who pass their knowledge on to the team and motivate them to act sustainably.
Well positioned
Our large network supports us in our strive for a more intelligent, far-sighted tourism. Apart from the expert team in our offices, our team encompasses experienced consultants and independent auditors who regularly assess the companies’ sustainability performance. The certification council, which works on a volunteer basis, is at the core of the competence and credibility of the TourCert certification.
TourCert is growing globally
Apart from the TourCert locations in Germany, we are working on expanding the TourCert system to other countries and their needs – currently especially in Latin America.
We also work with Preferred Partners who, in their respective countries, see to it that the principles of sustainable tourism gain ground. In this way, our community is growing steadily and increasingly permeates the tourism industry.
Every year, TourCert is represented at renowned international trade fairs such as ITB in Berlin. Since 2018, we will be partner for sustainable tourism at the Fair Handeln trade fair in Stuttgart.
What’s more, with our international projects we increasingly reach the entire tourism value chain and are proud of a far-reaching community that is equally committed to our values as we are.
Guaranteed quality
All criteria catalogues of TourCert are based on the international quality and environmental management standards according to ISO and EMAS as well as the ISO guidelines for corporate responsibility (ISO 26000) and are also oriented to the international regulations of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
Sustainability at TourCert
Since May 2023 we are validated according to the sustainability management system EMASplus.
Since we have high expectations not only of our customers but also of ourselves, we were able to conduct a comprehensive analysis of our business procedures, processes and environmental impact with the help of EMASplus and set ourselves concrete goals and create improvement measures.
The validation provides our customers with the assurance that they are choosing a sustainably oriented and environmentally conscious partner.
EMASplus underlines our commitment to sustainability and responsible action and ensures the continuous improvement process at TourCert.

Excellent!
Not only international standards prove the quality of our systems, but also industry-wide investigations: In a study of 36 certification systems in sustainable tourism, conducted by VERBRAUCHER INITIATIVE E.V. and ZENAT (2017), our certifications achieved excellent results (places 1, 2 and 5). Highlighted were transparency, credibility and our holistic approach.
